Well welcome to 2010 folks... Most of you I played WoW with so long ago, are probably out of school, and are now aware of the pains of a working man/woman's life.
Many of you are probably still in WoW, some I know moved to Warhammer Online, and others finally grew up and moved on.
Many of you still keep in touch from time to time, and that is great to see, Facebook is a wonderful mechnasim that allows for this sort of contact that has not been available to previous generations.
---
The Past 12 Months:
Well Whisky Tango Foxtrot as far as WoW and Warhammer are concerned I believe have come to a fairly solid close. I know splinter groups of many of the old guild who still operate as units within others.
My Online gaming has largely been spent in World War II Online (www.battlegroundeurope.com), which is a very strategic FPS, a game in which before I knew it I found myself at the command levels within that game as well, and still remain there and am active on the Allied Side within high command under the handle of "Karelean".
The game not being a Raid/RPG game (but still very teamwork/squad(guild) oriented) has allowed me the flexibility to put the game down at short notice when I have needed to. The extra demands on my personal time have taken presedence the last 12 months, with my move back "home" to Western Australia.
---
What is coming up However, and what (If I can find an emailing function) I will send out the the WTF subscribers, is on open invitation for past members and there new contacts to make themselves known in the upcoming MMO :Star Trek Online.
I -KNOW- Several of you will be headed that way, and I myself have purchased a pre-order for the game, and no doubt in time will be looking to join a guild/faction/alliance (or whatever STOL's equivlent is) -- I will be registering the old guild name for STOL as soon as possible, to allow for the possibility if it eventuates of old comrades rebanding together. Whether this gets off the ground or is another short term experience like Warhammer, we shall wait and see...
So post away in the WTF Forums, any thoughts, expressions of interest, or even just a hello...
And I hope wherever you are, you are well, happy and enjoying life with a sense of fairplay I tried to inspire in all guild members.
I can be contacted by email at karellean@wtfguild.org

The branching off from WoW to Warhammer marks a new step in WTF activities. We are no longer just a simple WoW guild. (Even though one could argue we never simply were a simple guild.)
Pre BC, BC and on WAR, new people have joined the WTF crew, and have gotten their own experiences from the leadership of it's admin.
We are now a gaming network, with friendships forged and good times remembered. As such - If you haven't already, I suggest having a look in our downloads section. Theres a few gems in there, and I'll be adding more as I find them.
I have reworked the entire forums to suit the current Warhammer WTF expansion; and I sincierly hope there is more to come.
WTF is a legacy.
In the words of Shrike:
This aint a list of bullshit we done over the year, this is a chronicle that needs to be remembered throughout the ages.
WTF - A possible branch on Warhammer Online to Start Sept 2008

A number of WTF members have already expressed interest in the possibility of a WTF branch forming when Warhammer Online starts next month...
At least 10 people already have shown interest, and 10 people out of 20 or so I hear from regularly, means theres likely a LOT more out there instereted too... I myself remain undecided at this point, but with such numbers interested its going to be hard to turn down...
If we are going to form a branch then we best start doing a little prep work very soon... We already have this website which I will continue to sponser ad-inifitum, and I can sponsor a vent as well... when/if the need arises...
DKP systems if needed (I have no idea what warhammer is like myself) would likely operate simular to the min bid/buyout "ebay" style DKP system WTF mk.II used with minimal complaints... (Provided they are suitable or needed for Warhammer)
There would be a much tighter control on the SPACKTARD quota too for taking players onboard, as the WTF brand has quite a large number of players assioated with it... That and the fact we will would be setting up with a established background will probably place us in a position of strength desirability from a guild point of view, on the new server...
Loose plan is we will be CHOAS (the dark side this time and avoid the underage allied noobtarts, we are all now older then) on a yet to be specified realm on the AUSTRALIAN server
If we come to a decision sooner rather then later and actively start spreading the word, we have the potential to be one of the largest and most powerful guilds in game from the outset...
I encourage all to Post on the WTF forums inside, OR on the Facebook Group (where I have placed a simular post) any further thoughts... Also please spread the word about this and direct ex-WTF players to read this news post and elsewhere...

Apologies to anyone who did read my first two raid reports...
It was my intent to do them regularly, but my RL work commitments and Football commitments have absorbed a lot of my usual downtime...
CONGRATS on Al'ar...
The turnout largely confirmed what I suspected, that when our core players decide to turn up in a good mood and not drunk, shit dies pretty bloody quickly...
Really I couldn't fault much at all with the pull that downed Al'ar (the second pull), and I think we might of cracked this chestnut wide open..
We also did VR & Lurker in tonights raid to try and give us a break on Sunday but I would like to claim Hydross still this week, be it SUN or MON...
As usual im drunk writing this, so bear with me for the drivel below, but its probably when your likely to get a few more answers out of me...
---- On Roster Management
Healers are still our weakest point in guild, and we have shored this up somewhat with Mendhi (a.ka Kami) getting a "metric assload" of loot from Kara on Thursday...
We have other plans in place to kill this problem once and for all, and hopefully if we maintain the extremly strong TANK and a decent DPS turnout we should be fine..
As usual there is ongoing scrutiny by officers of our roster, and some players are at risk of being delisted due to inactivity. If you think this might be the case with you, PST or better still GAME MAIL me to show due cause as to why you shouldn't be removed... As usual leniancy will be shown dependant on the length and quality of service... The decision to delist any player is not lightly reached, and I endeavour to speak directly with players whom are on the "chopping block" when possible...
Also I recognise Main Tanks have been in a transitional period of late, and I know this has been frustrating for some... As officers it has been noted that we need to clearly identify the 2/3 Lead Prot Warriors (Gear, Activity, Skill, Loyality) and reach a decision on these positions sometime over the weekend...
Whilst we sympathise with those who are assigned reserve Prot Roles, I know first hand the pain in having to serve in one of those roles, but for the betterment of the other 50 players or so within the guild, failing to cede loot to the lead Prot Warriors when needed, is commiting guild suicide....
The final decisions of all the above roster management tasks will not be easily reached, and those who dont make the cut, will be offered fair and honest solutions where possible...
It has been made clear to me by the fraternity of officers I have not been ruthless enough in pruning the roster when needed, and having made this mistake in the past, I intend for it not to happen again...
I have already begun clearing a number of legacy players from the roster where possible, to reduce clutter... It is also pubically known I dislike ALTS in the guild, due to the difficults involved in assessing the roster easily for roster management. I would prefer to reduce this to -OFFICER- (not raider+) players only... Players who wish to help out by removing their alts and joining the wtfglobal channel would be encouraged to do so... I am happy to invite all alts to a special guild if we choose to create one...
----- On Raider+
The idea behind Raider+ players is that they are raid assistants, used to delegate various tasks (Tanking, Healing, Special OPS) within the raid as needed...
They are also players whom assist Officers with input to Recruiting, Performance and Roster Management where needed, and whilst I value input from all players where it is practical to do so, one cannot hear 40 voices at once. Players on Raider+ are players whom officers have selected to do the job as they meet a number of criteria, including attitude, maturity, service, skill, temperment and loyality. A delicate balance is needed to see that the majority of players are represented by those with likeminded interest, without having too few or too many of one "faction" or another, one class or another, or too many or too few individuals altogether at that rank.. It is awarded as deemed fit, and if you are begging me to be a raider+ then you probably are not the sort of person I want at that particular rank anyway...
As illustrated by the LENGTHY and diplomatically worded explaination above I ask players to refain from pestering officers for promotions (or demotions - You know who that is)
And for those without a 8th Grade vocabulary, or possesing the tact of a drooling barbarian I can word all of this a lot more simply -- " SHUT THE FUCK UP" ------
On WTF history...
It has become apperant to me in a number of random web surfing adventures (fortunatley not spoilt by spyware) that the is probably a good deal of guild "history" that could be written about by now...
In some shape or form the guild would likely of seen 200-300 players through its ranks, if not more, and has been running for almost 21 months since foundation... I am not the foundation member, Lix knows who that is, and I think it had 2 GM's prior to Elixir and Myself taking it over PRE-BC.
There is many a long story and persons who could be discussed at length making what could be a really good epic readathon for many people involved...
I hope to write a lengthy epic post (much like this) sometime when Im drunk which I will get players of all sorts to add to.. Feel free to write some anecdotes, which I will probably use, and then edit and satire them, as I do in Epic Posts, and order them into some cohesive pattern...
For the purposes of continuity, I intend to include stories involving WTF members who served in splinter and formation guilds: Disco Knights, Last Redemption, Dyslexics Untie, Shadow Ravens (and that other crappy ass Daz guild) to round out the bigger picture... Difficult it may be, but perhaps even a list of former members who served some REASONABLE time in a raiding role could be made too...
Anyway thats all something to do at work when Im bored... Or you noobs feel bored at school....
Its not something to be started at 3am on a Friday Night...
Btw, I spent a good long while getting the Download's Section up and running! All the mods I could think of for raiding are in there. I'll try to keep it as up to date as possible.

WTF completed its first TK raid on Friday Downing both Void Reaver and Solarion...
This was a well supported raid with 5 members on standby, recieving DKP, its great to see the turnout...
Things went quite smoothly and the raid was started on time clsoe to 7:30 and finished on time just before 10:15pm... This is ideal, and exactly what we are looking for to be a successful, organised guild...
The DKP mods run by Elixir and myself proved to be a success from our point of view, and I hope this makes loot a lot easier to manage for both players and Raid Leaders alike...
It allowed us to have the DKP on the website up to date 20 mins after the finish of the raid, as opposed to having to delay it a couple of days as normal....
After seeing both this TK raid and our SSC raid, I have made the following conclusions regarding our roster:
TANKS: We have a very good setup at the moment and some quality/geared tanks
Battlefurys and Mohawkk are geared enough as it stand to realistically take us to 4/6 SSC and 3/4 TK with a minimal of fuss.... They are well Supported by three competent Druid Tanks in Knoddy, Tigoni & Talara... To complete A'lar (third boss TK) we will however need ALL of them online in the same raid... Deekosaurus is currently a reserve prot tank, who is inactive due to work/sport commitments for a couple of weeks...
DPS: Things ARE dying quite quickly... The DPS output at VR was quite impressive considering we had almost 2 minutes left up our sleeve, and thats with a LOT of DPS dead early, AND carrying 8 healers instead of the normal 7.... We are going to need to maintain this output to down Fathomlord and A'lar .... The output as I said is great, the rate of death of DPS in boss fights is not... and whilst the healers may be somewhat repsonsable for this... the DPS need to do a lot more in the way of POTS, Healthstones and occassionly bandages to HELP the healers out, and keep yourself alive at key moments when a lot of players have taken a hit.... SURVIVABILTY should always be first and foremost for at least the first 50% of any boss fight, and if we need to push the DPS after this then so be it... The key to it all is learning to TIME your pots, stones when needed... Being aware of the raids total health will help... IF you see a large number of players on low health... thats probably an indication that it is time to pot if you are low....
Healers: Are holding up OK, I don't like being critical, but we do need to improve our healing outfit somewhat across the board... Thats means gear, organisation of healing assignements AND some extra due care and attention to maintaining a high output of heals during all boss fights... Gear will come easily enough, and I can only ask that you stay 110% switched on at boss fights.... I have asked the DPS to be more considerate and pot a little more frequently as well... Organisation is something that probably immediatley needs to be addressed... IF you are unsure for any reason as to what is your main healing assignment.... --AND-- who you should be looking to help out next... then please, please ask the Healing leader... or if for some reason that isnt clear ask the raid leader (as a last resort)...
GENERAL RAID ORGANISATION (Buffs, Reagents, Punctuality, AFK's, DC's, Vent, Attitude)
Punctuality, AFK's & DC's have not been issues affecting raids ATM... I am extremly happy with our current handling and level of these factors...
Groups,Buffs, Reagents: OK a couple of really ANNOYING issues here that need to be sorted out to minimise what could flare into some unsavioury vent rage...
Groups: PLEASE do not ask me to rearrange groups to suit your special needs during trash... It is TRASH... We should be able to clear trash even if the groups were scattered in any random layour that could possibly happen.... Due to the short sharp nature of the fights... groups for trash are of MINIMAL importance.... I WILL NOT BE REARRANGING GROUPS SO YOU CAN DEAL AND EXTRA 0.2% DPS TO TOP METERES.... In short everytime I move someone, someone else missed out... take the group you are given and STFU... During boss fights groups will be set be the raid leader / healing leader / other NOMINATED raid assistant.... These may appear strange sometimes but they are usually done FOR a reason.... If you miss out on the group you may like to be in... ask once... if you are ignored...live with it.... Please don't take it the wrong way but I am sick of up to 10 people spamming me for group changes...
Buffs and Reagents: There have been 3 instances of players running out of raid buff reagents already, and 2 instances of players being tight asses and REFUSING to buff with the standard raid buff reagents.... This will stop.... Players found without reagents will suffer a loss of the PRE-RAID DKP, as I deem this as coming to a raid unprepared... ALSO Players found to be cheaping out and giving single buffs, which A) Fall off during combat or B) result in a player/players being missed from buffs will be repremanded THEN disciplined (-Pre Raid DKP)... This may sound draconian but FOR THE AMOUNT OF SPAM I RECIEVE FOR MISSING BUFFS... purely because somebody is too cheap or too lazy to do the job properly - The discipline will be given if not followed... ---- Paladins AND Buffs: These are a special case as pally buffing is complicated, the following points apply for pally buffs
1. - Single buffs from pallies MAY be permissable in certain circumstances where there are not enough pallies to give greater buffs everywhere...
2. ALL PALADINS ARE TO HAVE PALLY POWER MOD STARTING NEXT WEEK
3. - Pally buffs will be messy during trash... and once again at trash i DO NOT WANT TO SEE PEOPLE BEGGING FOR WISDOM OR MIGHT.... it is trash... if we cant do trash without these buffs, then perhaps we shouldnt be raiding... that said I EXPECT SALAVATION AND LIGHT to be maintained AT ALL TIMES.... At boss fights it is ok for classes to request more detailed orders...
------
VENT & ATTITUDE : All players should be on vent, no exceptions... IF you are not on vent and there are standbys available who are on vent or can be... then i reserve the right to replace you in the raid... We will be finalising a vent server hopewfully within two weeks...
Attitude: Has been very good... Other then some isolated cases outlined above.... I am extremly happy with the guilds first week... and it has gone better then expected as a whole..
Lastly,
On the website: Some of you may of noticed pictures of WTF members chars appearing on the left hand side... I decided to add these to keep the front page some color...
We have 10 different members there already... IF you would like to have yours... email to me jessebelle@wtfguild.org , your characters pic - ideally in a format that is 160 pixels wide and around 200-300 pixels high... I will endeavour to post these as soon as I recieve them... NO RAID SUNDAY THIS WEEK [

CONGRATS to all on a successful start to our first full week of raiding and the first WTF loots down...
It was a slow start at Hydross but we did succesfully clear it in one trash clear, no doubt the boss will be far far easier next week... Loot was mediocre (IMO) with two crappy trinkets and the only decent piece a Hunter Chest to Harryshotter...
Lurker was significantly better, with a number of "0 Body count" trash pulls following the high after Hydross's demise...
This boss needs focus, and other then people not focusing on the jobs at times, in general it was done ok... Any given wipe was USUALLY just one bad slip up by one player (different player each time) , and perhaps it is the positioning that can reduce the risks of wipes from this, Ill take the blame for that, as that should be my job..
It took 2 Shots ??? On Lurker and he was toast... Not much to add here, except healers perhaps need to be a little more wary on that middle island, it seems to be a bit of a black hole for healing for a few weeks now...
Loot there went to Knoddy (odd looking ring), Elixir (Priest Trinket) and Rossian who picked up some off set healing boots which were passed in...
Also of mention Swordblazer now has all his vortexs... well done...
From what I saw tonight, things look good... A little inconsistant in places with the healers having a bad run at Hydross (after the DPS did initially) ... But the boss was put down well within the enrage timer when it was done, indicating that DPS is quite solid when focused on the job... Lurker dropped fairly quick too IMO...
We DO need to tidy up our mods... Pally power in particular to sort those buffs out... I am assuming most have decursive and OMEN threat meter (as opposed to KTM)... We will likely download the latest mods at some point and MIRROR them under our downloads link
And we will look at sorting out the vent issue we had at the start of the raid sometime this weekend...
The DKP website is now UP and the link WILL WORK... (However in the meanwhile I have not added Mondays Progression raid OR Tonights DKP as it is 3:20am and I start work at 9am...)
I will have it done by Friday.... Its only values that need to be entered now... the time consuming bit is outta the way...
TK invites from 7PM -- PULLING at 7:30pm .... Pre-Raid DKP awarded at some point between 7:25 and 7:35pm, this varies to avoid abuse....
Ok... Time for a celebratory smoke...
Oh one last thing, our list is still a little light on in players in some places, anyone who does have friends interested IN RAIDING PROPERLY, feel free to have them drop us a post on the forums, or at this point, I will allow them to pst me...
In particular we need at least another 2 warlocks and 3 Hunters... Its not that these classes are hard to find, but to find players with QUALITY playing these is the key...
